Cay Sal 2008

After visiting the Island we went for a dive.  We looked and looked and could not find very good reefs.  It seems surprisingly devoid of life, although we have been told there are some nice reefs in the area.  Although the variety of life was pretty good when we snorkeled into the island, there was not much of it.  So we headed for a drop off.  It went from 66 feet to 690 feet, I hoped for the best.  We dropped anchor put on our gear and went in.  John was the first in, as usual.  He immediately popped his head up and said, "shark!", "another one" "a third".

We all got in and carefully looked around.  Sure enough, 3 reef sharks.  More concerning, they were looking up at us and started heading up towards us.  Look at the photos and you can see they are swimming upward.  Remember they are 40-60 feet down in those photos.
